Beaulieu Public Examination Results 2012
As Headmaster of Beaulieu I have been delighted and hugely impressed by the results achieved by our A Level, BTEC and GCSE students again this year.
Our Year 13 girls worked extremely hard, achieving an impressive pass rate, with almost 35% of all A2 A Level examinations taken being awarded A* or A grades, and nearly 60% achieving A* to B. Similarly, an excellent 68% of our BTEC students achieved the equivalent of A*s or As at A Level.
We also enjoyed an increase in the percentage of higher grades attained compared to 2011, with some outstanding performances from individual students.
Our GCSE students where equally as impressive, and we enjoyed a 100% pass rate. Our value added score was also excellent, with students in twelve of the subjects examined achieving on average more than 0.5 of a grade higher than expected.
What makes these results even more of an achievement is the inclusive nature of Beaulieu. As an academically non-selective school, we strive to help every child in our care reach their full potential, wherever their area of interest may lie. This special ethos is supported by a recent Ofsted report which asserted that: ‘The culture and ethos of the school are outstanding and are highly significant factors in the academic success of individual girls and the school collectively.’
The results our girls have achieved demonstrate a great deal of hard work over a number of years, and also reflect the personal courage and determination of each student to succeed. We are delighted to celebrate their achievements with them and wish them lots of luck with their future plans.

There were 72 students on roll in year 11. The mean CAT score of the students was 108. This information however masks the fact that the CAT scores range from 82 up to 136, reflecting the inclusive nature of the school. The results achieved are highlighted in the table attached.

- 2 students achieved all A*/A grades in their GCSEs.
- This year we achieved a 100% pass rate at GCSE.
